Hot stamping is a dry printing method whereby predried foils are pressed and transferred through heat onto a bag, box, or ribbon.
The Process:
Hot Stamped products are made by first creating a metal die for the imprint you would like. This die is inserted into our hot stamping machine, along with the color foil you prefer. The bags are then placed under the press, and the die is heated. When pressed down, the die pushes the foil on the bag and transfers the image.
Advantages:
Since the ink is pre-dried, the product surface does not absord any of the ink – so the color is true
Disadvantages:
Hot Stamp dies cannot have tight registration (small details), nor can the foils overlap or touch
